This is our "medicine cabinet." It is the dinkiest space above our microwave. I actually did this space first in my organization because it is the one that affects Aaron the most. He HATES to get something out because, as you can see, it. is. a. disaster. You try to get one thing out and five more things fall out on top of you so...here is the BEFORE:
And here is the AFTER:
I purchased a DYMO label maker ages ago and this year I think he is going to be my best friend. I highly recommend a label maker.

The Closet Renovation
Here are my attempts at organizing my closet (please don't judge me on my 'before' pictures...just know I am trying to be better).

The AFTER pics:

Three sets of little shelf units and some bins make a world of difference. One lady on the blog said she was all about hiding her junk in cute containers. I think that is the truth. It is really not that there is less, but that I am storing it in a better way. Although, we now have a huge lawn size black garbage bag full of clothes to give to DI. It feels good to organize and declutter. To finish the closet I would like to get a hamper, but I am waiting for a sale or a coupon, those suckers are expensive.
The BEFORE:

Project Organize
I have been following this blog for awhile. I decided to join her in her organization party. I have been completely inspired by this. BUT I haven't really been following her rules... like sticking to one room at a time. I have just been doing the bigger projects that I have been thinking about in the back of my mind for for-ev-er. So here are some befores and afters of the projects I have been working on. Now the lady from the blog is amazing and does things real cheap. I, on the other hand get too anxious, am too impatient, and I hate shopping with two kids. Hence, I am not good at looking for great deals and returning repeatedly to find them. This will change, however, when I am only working a couple days a month and our budget is a. lot. more. tight. So...enjoy. Kaden's room pics BEFORE

The Paint Project
So I decided I was sick of the color of the walls in our bedroom about a year and a half ago (that is when this project started). All I got done at the time was the bathroom and parts of two other walls. We finally took the time to complete the project.

Suns Adventure
We went to the Suns game on January 9th. It was quite an interesting evening. My sister-in-law Sarah already blogged the story so I am actually going to steal the story from her blog instead of re-typing it all and I'll add my flavor to it. Thanks Sarah for being more on top of things!!
We went to eat out at Texas Roadhouse before the game. Great food as usual. Great company as always. We were getting into our car and a homeless man walks up to Aaron and asks him for some money to go to a pharmacy to get something for a spider bite. Aaron then asks if he could see the bite. The bum then tells us it is on his butt.........OK............gross. Brenton hands Aaron a dollar and Aaron proceeds to give it to him. This guy was so excited that we gave him a dollar that he started dancing and singing. Aaron then tells him that if he did that at first he would've given him five dollars and if he would've shown him his spider bite he would have given him $10. Then Aaron says I have a friend in the car that really wants to see the bite, and rolls the window down on Sarah's side. This guy starts taking off his pants. So, of course at that point we all start saying "just kidding, don't do it!" So he didn't and as we drove off he was dancing and singing his little dance. We should have taken that moment as premonition for the rest of the night.
We got to the game and we were all so excited for our 14th row tickets! We start walking to them and came out onto the upper level. Sarah and I were together and we were confused because we were so sure we were supposed to be down on the lower level. So close that we could smell Shaq. Ah no. We asked the security lady were our seats were and she told us the very, very top of the whole stadium. So not 14th row from the court, 14th row from the upper level. Brenton and Aaron get there and we all start laughing because it was Carly that found the tickets for his mom and see was so excited to tell them when they opened them that they were 14th row. So we texted her pictures and told her where we were sitting.
Then a bunch of drunk people came and sat right in front of us. They were so wasted already and the game hadn't even started. They were cussing up slurred storms and were asking Sarah and I if we wanted our faces painted (with pics male genitalia). One of them actually took the group picture of us. They were so gross and so drunk. Luckily at halftime they left and never came back. Oh but that wasn't the end of our exciting night.
In between the 3rd and 4th period they do pep boosters. The dancers come out the cheerleaders, and pep squad are out on the court keeping the crowd going. Well, Aaron has some cousins that are on the pep squad and was taking pictures of them with the new camera we got for Christmas. Then the period started and this lady came up and asked Aaron to come with her and told him he was in trouble, and then asked him to bring his camera. The three of us sat there looking at each other with total confusion. What did Aaron do? He came back and informs us that a security guard was accusing him of taking videos with his camera and wanted to see them. Aaron kept informing her that he'd only taken pictures, not videos. She didn't believe him and kept accusing him. Finally she told him to go back to his seat and that she would keep an eye on him.
The game was pretty much over. The suns were winning by a lot so we decided to leave. Aaron decides he wants to complain about the security guard (Aaron is not normally a complainer. He will eat a raw steak at a restaurant without complaining, but this lady was pretty rude.) So we went down to the guest relations office and filed a complaint. We got $20 worth of coupons to Jack-in-the-Box , Sports Chalet and Taco Bell.
So to end our very adventurous night, we stopped and let the Suns buy us shakes from Jack-in-the-Box:)
Here are some pics from my new camera
My Christmas present
So this post is way past overdue. I never quite gave Aaron appropriate props for buying this for me for Christmas. I have been asking for a new camera for FOREVER. Our old one (which I did love for quite some time) was acting up. I had to take the battery in and out of the camera almost with every picture. So the old one has become "Aaron's camera" that he can take riding and what not. And now I have this gorgeous thing which I really have no clue how to take a good picture. I will learn as time goes on I guess. I have an awesome husband who was willing to spend some good money to make his wife happy. I LOVE it.Thursday, January 8, 2009
Blessing Day
My Kaden
Kaden decided to give himself a haircut about a week or so ago. Aaron got new clippers for Christmas and we were going to give the old ones to DI so they were in a bin in the garage. Aaron was working out in the garage and I was in my bedroom getting ready for a reception. Kaden found the old clippers, went in his room and shut the door, plugged the clippers in, and cut a nice big patch out of the top. No guard. No nothin. I was mortified. But there was nothing we could do, so we let him finish cutting as much as he could. Then we proceeded to buzz the rest off. :( My child looks like a cancer patient on chemo. I seriously thought about looking for an acting job for a sick kid. Oh my Kaden...
